Dear freshmen,
Good evening!
I take great pleasure to preside at tonight`s welcome evening party and deliver an opening speech. On behalf of the Students’ Union, I wish to convey the most gracious greeting and thank you all for your attendance.
It is a delight to have friends coming from afar. Meeting freshmen is one of the most exhilarating moments for our university in a year, as well as a new beginning for seniors. Dear freshmen, the moment you step into the gate of university you look back upon the past and into the future, you must have the sense that your life could be amazingly different. As the saying goes, “Distance separates no bosom friends.” This new big family will give you a big hug with all its warmth and enthusiasm.
Hope the evening party will leave you a deep impression. Hope you all can get on with your new classmates harmoniously, adapt to your college life soon and make the coming semester a more fruitful semester!

各位老師、親愛的同學(xué)們：
大家好！
今天，我們將有來自世界各地的17名留學(xué)生通過通信留學(xué)生“1+1”活動(dòng)加入我們本科2014級的15個(gè)班級，在此，讓我代表通信學(xué)院對各位留學(xué)生表示熱烈的歡迎。同時(shí)，我也要向大力支持通信留學(xué)生活動(dòng)的國際合作與交流處表示誠摯感謝。
通信留學(xué)生“1+1”活動(dòng)以通信學(xué)院、國際教育學(xué)院兩個(gè)學(xué)院學(xué)生為主體，開展各類活動(dòng)。活動(dòng)幫助留學(xué)生更好地融入中國生活的同時(shí)也拓寬了我們同學(xué)們的國際視野。加強(qiáng)留學(xué)生與我們的同學(xué)們的交流，使雙方建立起友誼和長期穩(wěn)定的聯(lián)系，并以互幫互助的形式達(dá)到雙方共同成長共同進(jìn)步的目的。
“1+1”不僅代表了通信學(xué)院加上國際教育學(xué)院兩個(gè)學(xué)院共同參與此次活動(dòng)，更代表了留學(xué)生與中國學(xué)生兩個(gè)群體，各出一份力，為彼此提供幫助的'美好愿景。希望我們能通過此項(xiàng)目，使雙方都有所收獲，進(jìn)而達(dá)到培養(yǎng)具有國際意識、國際交往能力、國際競爭能力的創(chuàng)新型人才的目的，收貨一加一大于二的效果。
同學(xué)們，大學(xué)的任務(wù)是探索、創(chuàng)新和傳播高深知識，而知識具有普遍性。21世紀(jì)經(jīng)濟(jì)全球化和信息技術(shù)的發(fā)展使文化學(xué)術(shù)交流成為時(shí)代的主題，知識的傳播已跨越了國界。高等教育呈現(xiàn)出教育國際化、大學(xué)功能一體化、教育信息化、學(xué)科交叉綜合化的總趨勢，尤其是隨著中國在全球事務(wù)中越來越發(fā)揮著舉足輕的作用，人才培養(yǎng)的國際化已不再是一個(gè)選項(xiàng)而是必須。
在此，我對同學(xué)們提幾點(diǎn)希望：
1.希望同學(xué)們能夠通過互相交流學(xué)習(xí)，感受到不同文化差異碰撞出的火花。擴(kuò)大各自的生活圈，見識不一樣的世界。通過互相學(xué)習(xí)，互相磨合，培養(yǎng)自身的跨文化素養(yǎng)，幫助大學(xué)生的情感、態(tài)度、價(jià)值觀水平的提升。
2.希望我們的同學(xué)能夠發(fā)揚(yáng)中華民族親仁善鄰的傳統(tǒng)美德。與留學(xué)生互相尊重，相互關(guān)心，幫助留學(xué)生更加自然的融入中國的大學(xué)生活，感受到來自異國友人的熱情。希望我們彼此雙方，都能以真心去經(jīng)營雙方得之不易的特殊友誼。
3.希望“1+1”項(xiàng)目能夠成為打開國際視野，培養(yǎng)創(chuàng)新思維的新橋梁。全面深入的交流模式，不僅能提高同學(xué)們的外語水平、學(xué)術(shù)水平，還能夠促使同學(xué)們形成“中西合璧”的創(chuàng)新思維模式，為我們科大培養(yǎng)具有國際背景的創(chuàng)造性人才打下良好基礎(chǔ)。
最后，祝大家身體健康、工作順利、學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)步、萬事如意！
Ladies and gentlemen,
Good afternoon!
Today , we’ll have about 15 international students to join in the "1+1" activity and then join the 15 classes of grade one.On behalf of Communication and Information Institute,I would like to welcome these international students .At the same time,I want to give special thanks to International Education Institute.
This “1+1”activity is held by Communication and Information Institute and International Education Institute,aiming at helping international students enjoy their life in China and broadening our students’ horizon .Not only providing more opportunities for both international students and our students to share and communicate, this activity also helps all the students to establish a long-term friendship and then to make progress together. All the students and these 2 institutes contribute a lot to this activity, and I sincerely wish that this activity can gain great achievements.
