TheRace初中英語(yǔ)作文

　　One day, Hare decided to have a race with Tortoise. Hare wanted to let Tortoise to be embarassed. They shook hands with each other before the race.

　　They went to prepare themselves at the starting point. Hare shouted. "Ready, get set, GO!!!" Hare zoomed of in a streak of white light, leaving clouds of dust behind. Tortoise was still at the starting point, crawling.After a few minutes of running, Hare looked back. Tortoise was just a tiny speck in the distance.

　　Hare decided to rest for a while. Soon, he was snoring. After a while, Tortoise finally came. He slowly crept past Hare. Sweat was pouring from him. Tortoise continued.

　　Hare woke up suddenly. He continued running to the finishing line. He suddenly realized that he slept for hours. He expected that Tortoise had not reached the line. When Hare was near the finishing line, he gasped in disbelief. Tortoise had reached the finishing line!!! Tortoise was waving and smiling at Hare. Hare was ashamed that he lost the race as he was over confident.
