　　One day， a hare and a tortoise decided to have a race to see who was faster than the other。 They agreed that the one who first got to the big tree in the distance was the winner。 So they started at the same time。

　　The hare thought， "My legs ave much longer than the tortoise's， I'm sure to be the winner。 Of course the tortoise was much slower than the hare， but he was never discouraged and kept on moving forward as fast as he could。

　　As the hare ran round a corner， he found the tortoise far behind him。 So the hare decided to take a rest under a tree。 When he woke up， the tortoise had already got to the tree and won the race。 The hare was filled with regret。

　　早上，客廳里傳來了我讀英語(yǔ)的聲音，我以前英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)的不太好，暑假爸爸讓我再學(xué)一遍。

　　我還沒睡醒，就迷迷糊糊開始讀了，說是讀，其實(shí)是跟著磁帶學(xué)，會(huì)的.說一遍，不會(huì)的跟著磁帶亂說一通，很快就讀到了第四單元。

　　媽媽來檢查，前面幾個(gè)內(nèi)容還簡(jiǎn)單，到了后面就有點(diǎn)吃不消了，怎么讀呀、意思是什么呀一個(gè)個(gè)問題出現(xiàn)在我的腦子里，媽媽見我這么多都不會(huì)，叫爸爸來教我，爸爸教一個(gè)，我讀一個(gè)，后來還是一個(gè)記不住，只有硬著頭皮學(xué)，剛好英語(yǔ)書上有一個(gè)內(nèi)容題目叫“讀讀寫寫”，爸爸就讓我抄了一遍，這一抄，問題更大，要么拿筆姿勢(shì)不對(duì)，要么眼睛離書本太近，要么單詞書寫不規(guī)范……問題一個(gè)接一個(gè)。

　　我剛想抱怨英語(yǔ)單詞太難，可又一想，這全都怪我平時(shí)上英語(yǔ)課不認(rèn)真，老師講課時(shí)，我在底下傳紙條、做小動(dòng)作、說話，根本沒把老師放在眼里，沒有意識(shí)到英語(yǔ)的重要性。聽爸爸說，上中學(xué)以后，英語(yǔ)和語(yǔ)文數(shù)學(xué)一樣重要，高考時(shí)英語(yǔ)不行也考不上好大學(xué)，就算考上了好大學(xué)，連英語(yǔ)都不會(huì)說，怎么和外國(guó)人交流？我可不想成為一個(gè)“少壯不努力，老大徒傷悲”的人。

　　想到這里，我決定暑假一定要補(bǔ)好英語(yǔ)：

　　一， 每天早上跟磁帶讀單詞，讀到會(huì)讀為止；

　　二， 每天早上聽寫十個(gè)單詞，寫到會(huì)寫為止；

　　三， 熟記課文意思，記會(huì)為止。

　　Generation gap between parents and children

　　Nowadays , there are more and more misunderstanding between parents and children which is so- called generation gap . It is estimated that (75 percentages of parents often complain their children‘s unreasonable behavior while children usually think their parents too old fashioned).

　　Why have there been so much misunderstanding between parents and children?Maybe the reasons can be listed as follows . The first one is that ( the two generations,having grown up at different times, have different likes and dislikes ,thus the disagreement often rises between them) . Besides(due to having little in common to talk about , they are not willing to sit face to face ) . 　　when a gentle breeze passed by, hundreds of petals parachuted down. they danced and whirled beautifully in the air and blurred my vision. the petals were so light that it took them some time to fall down onto the ground or into the pool.

　　the petals lying on the ground joined their brothers and sisters to etend a pink carpet while those floating on the water were setting out on a mysterious journey.

　　i surely will be sorry when all of the petals have fallen down. my friend said woefully.
