我在這十多年的生活中有許許多多“第一次”。第一次進(jìn)校門、第一次學(xué)寫字、第一次作文、第一次幫媽媽燒火做飯……而最讓我難忘的
是“我第一次參加的英語口語競(jìng)賽"”。
那是在五年級(jí)的時(shí)候，老師說：“邢臺(tái)市教委要舉辦‘少年英語口語大賽’�！眳⒓痈�(jìng)賽是我夢(mèng)寐以求的，于是第一個(gè)報(bào)了名。經(jīng)過學(xué)區(qū)、市教委選拔，結(jié)果我朝思暮想的愿望實(shí)現(xiàn)了。
我高高興興的準(zhǔn)備了講演稿，又經(jīng)老師修改了一番，便如饑似渴的演練起來。英語不同漢語那么好背，感情也不好表現(xiàn)，練了好幾天，老師檢驗(yàn)總是不合格，這次我真正體會(huì)到“臺(tái)上一分鐘，臺(tái)下十年功”。經(jīng)過幾天的演練。終于，把她背了個(gè)滾瓜爛熟。好不容易等到了比賽的那一天，老師領(lǐng)著我們興高采烈的奔赴邢臺(tái)賽區(qū)。
進(jìn)入賽場(chǎng)，我一看名單我在四十多號(hào)呢！心想還早呢，就在心里默默地背著稿子……轉(zhuǎn)眼間，剩下幾個(gè)人就輪到我了。就在我走上臺(tái)的那一剎那，看到幾十名參賽的學(xué)生和前排坐著的十幾位評(píng)委，其中還有一個(gè)“老外”，驀地心里多了幾分緊張，就想揣著一只小兔子似的，“怦怦”直跳，只見老師在后面看我，從眼神中看得出是在鼓勵(lì)我，給我加油！頓時(shí)，我有了膽量，我閉眼深吸一口氣，輕輕松松的演講起來，想春節(jié)放鞭炮一樣，一氣呵成。這時(shí)，我看到了評(píng)委滿意的`笑容，老師也高興的笑了，我提在嗓子眼兒的石頭也終于落了地。
回到學(xué)校，我天天等、日日盼。終于等到了比賽結(jié)果，劉校長(zhǎng)滿懷喜悅地來到我們教室，喜笑顏開的對(duì)我說：“浩鵬，你這次參加的英語口語競(jìng)賽得了二等獎(jiǎng)�！蔽液�(jiǎn)直不敢相信自己的耳朵，驚訝地說：“是嗎？”我接過證書，只見最上面寫著四個(gè)金黃的蒼勁有力的大字“榮譽(yù)證書”。這時(shí)我心花怒放抑制不住內(nèi)心的喜悅，像一只快樂的小鳥飛回了家，把獎(jiǎng)狀高高舉起，讓爸爸媽媽們看，他們異口同聲的夸我“孩子，真棒！”
這次英語口語競(jìng)賽，至今使我難以忘懷，是將成為我終生美好的回憶，也將是我終生的激勵(lì)！

after a particularly poor game of golf, a popular club member skipped the clubhouse and started to go home. as he was walking to the parking lot to get his car, a policeman stopped him and asked, "did you tee off on the siteenth hole about twenty minutes ago?"
"yes," the golfer responded.
"did you happen to hook your ball so that it went over the trees and off the course?"
"yes, i did. how did you know?" he asked.
"well," said the policeman very seriously, "your ball flew out onto the highway and crashed through a drivers windshield. the car went out of control, crashing into five other cars and a fire truck. the fire truck couldnt make it to the fire, and the building burned down. so, what are you going to do about it?"
the golfer thought it over carefully and responded...
"i think ill close my stance a little bit, tighten my grip and lower my right thumb."
