As is clearly depicted in the above picture, a daughter tells his mother a piece of good news that she has been admitted to a university as her mother desires. There is no denial in saying that the cartoon leaves us such a deep impression that we can not help thinking over a question: What role should parents play in their children’s growth?
From my point of view, during the process of a child’s growth, the role of parents is mainly listed as the following two aspects. On one hand, there is no doubt that parents are liable to take good care of their children. On the other hand, in children’s personal growth, parents ought to play a role as a person who helps children develop self-dependence, which carries more significant to children’s future life. In other words, parents should encourage their sons or daughters to be independent rather than reliant on others.
To conclude, in children’s personal growth, parents are responsible to care for their children. However, considering that they will grow up and live their own life in some day, parents should enable their children to acquire the ability to be self-independent.

個(gè)人認(rèn)為，父母在子女成長(zhǎng)過(guò)程中所扮演的角色主要有以下兩方面。一方面，毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)，父母有責(zé)任照顧好自己子女。另一方面，在子女的成長(zhǎng)過(guò)程中，父母應(yīng)扮演幫助子女養(yǎng)成自立的角色，因?yàn)樽粤?duì)子女的未來(lái)成長(zhǎng)是至關(guān)重要的。換句話說(shuō)，父母應(yīng)該鼓勵(lì)自己的孩子自力更生而不是依賴他人。
總之，在子女的個(gè)人成長(zhǎng)過(guò)程中，父母有責(zé)任照顧好子女。然而，考慮到總有一天子女會(huì)長(zhǎng)大成人，自己生活，因此父母應(yīng)該讓子女養(yǎng)成自立更勝的能力。

As is shown in the picture, a girl holding an admission notice is telling her mother, “Good news mom! I was accepted to the college of your choice.” It indicates that parents have decided too much for their children.
In China, parents like to decide everything for their children, such as what extracurricular classes they should take, what kind of friends they should make, and even which college they should enter. However, this is not good for them. On one hand, children cannot truly grow up if they are not given the choice of making their own decisions by themselves. On the other hand, parents’ decisions are not always right. For example, if your child likes and excels in drawing and you insist letting him enter a business school, then you may become his dream-killer.
All in all, parents should give their children more space to make their own decisions.
