One of the most important features of Western business news writing is the usage of simple and lively English. Since of most these writings cover not stories but trends of the market or development of policies, it is essential to make the writing right to the point and accessible to reader of various education levels. “The company expects to incur a loss, excluding special items, of between (11) cents and (14) cents per share in the first quarter.”

BEC高級閱讀應(yīng)該達(dá)到什么水平?
BEC髙級閱讀部分難度要求在劍橋商務(wù)英語考試試卷中處于最高級，按劍橋大學(xué)考試委員會(U-CLES)規(guī)定，應(yīng)達(dá)到 Certificate of Proficiency English (CPE)和 Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)水平。
BEC高級閱讀詞匯應(yīng)該達(dá)到什么水平?
在BEC初級和中級考試中，"商務(wù)"方面的內(nèi)容影響考試中的詞匯、文章類型及情景，而語言能力的其他方面，例如閱讀技巧中的獲取文章要點(diǎn)或處理語法結(jié)構(gòu)的能力應(yīng)與BEC髙級和由劍橋大學(xué)提供的"普通英語水平考試"相同。而對于BEC髙級，不可能綜合確定被認(rèn)為適合這一級別考試的詞匯， 不過，BEC高級的詞匯是在BEC中級詞匯的基礎(chǔ)上加以擴(kuò)大，BEC中級使用的是Hindmarsh的《英語詞匯》(English Lexicon 1 ~5級)以及商務(wù)英語補(bǔ)充詞匯表。不過由于BEC高級屬于高水平的商務(wù)英語水平考試，試題中出現(xiàn)的詞匯超出此表的范圍,以考查考生通過上下文或其他技巧讀懂有難度文章的能力。
