Sir John Monash was a distinguished Australian, who contributed to almost every level of society. We take inspiration from his philosophy, as captured in his famous words,...equip yourself for life, not solely for your own benefit but for the benefit of the whole community.The Sir John Monash Scholarship Program is a premier suite of scholarships designed to reward achievement. We unashamedly seek to attract the best students to our University, knowing that only by doing this can we continue to build upon our reputation as one of the regions leaders in education, research and graduate excellence.

　　Sir Monash was himself a gifted student, but was forced to end his own university studies shortly after they had begun due to financial hardship. He eventually returned to study and ultimately used his education to turn his natural talent into ability, and his ability into great achievement.
