世界旅游日為每年的9月27日。這是由世界旅游組織(WTO)確定的旅游工作者和旅游者的節(jié)日。創(chuàng)立該節(jié)日的目的在于給旅游宣傳提供一個機會，引起人們對旅游的重視，促進各國在旅游領域的合作。
Thethemeofthisyear’sWorldTourismDay,“Tourism–linkingcultures”,highlightsthepowerfulroleoftourisminbuildinginternationalunderstandingandmutualrespect.
今年世界旅游日的主題是“旅游——連接不同文化的紐帶”，它強調了旅游在促進國際了解和相互尊重方面的強大作用。
Thereisnobetterwaytolearnaboutanewculturethantoexperienceitfirst-hand.Tourismoffersawonderfulconnectingthreadbetweenvisitorandhostcommunity.Itpromotesdialogueandinteraction.Suchcontactbetweenpeopleofdifferentbackgroundsistheveryfoundationfortolerance.Inaworldstrugglingforpeacefulcoexistence,tourismcanbuildbridgesandcontributetopeace.

IencourageallinvolvedintourismtoembracethetenprinciplesoftheGlobalCodeofEthicsforTourism.Theseguidelinesforsustainableandresponsibletourismdevelopment,approvedbytheUNGeneralAssemblyin2001,arebasedontheproveninteractionbetweentourismandpeace,humanrightsandunderstanding.
我鼓勵所有參與旅游業(yè)的人員遵守《全球旅游業(yè)道德守則》的十項原則。聯(lián)合國大會2001年核準了這些促進可持續(xù)和負責任的旅游發(fā)展的守則，其基礎是旅游與和平、人權與了解之間經證實的互動關系。

IamdelightedthattheUNWorldTourismOrganizationiscelebratingthisyear‘sWorldTourismDayunderthethemeTourismandBiodiversity‘.Despiterepeatedglobalpledgestoprotecttheplanet‘sspeciesandhabitats–andthegoodsandservicestheyprovide–thevarietyoflifeonEarthcontinuestodeclineatanunprecedentedrate.Humanactivitiesarethecause.Thisyear–theInternationalYearofBiodiversity–providesatimely
opportunitytofocusontheurgencyofsafeguardingbiodiversityforthewealth,healthandwell-beingofpeopleinallregionsoftheworld.
我高興地看到，聯(lián)合國世界旅游組織在―旅游與生物多樣性‖的主題下紀念今年的世界旅游日。盡管一再做出全球承諾，要保護地球上的物種和生境及其提供的貨物和服務，但生物種類繼續(xù)以史無前例的速度減少。其根源在于人類的活動。今年是國際生物多樣性年，提供了一個適時的機會來集中注意為世界各地人民的財富、健康和福祉保護生物多樣性的緊迫性。

旅游與生物多樣性密切相連。每年有千百萬人為領略壯麗的自然風光而旅游。可持續(xù)旅游業(yè)產生的收入可以為保護自然和發(fā)展經濟提供重要的支持。此外，可持續(xù)旅游業(yè)還有助于游客和地方社區(qū)更多地認識到生物多樣性在日常生活中的重要作用。
Throughinitiativessuchasits―SustainableTourism–EliminatingPoverty‖project,anditscollaborationwiththeUNfamily,nationaltourismauthoritiesandtheprivatesector,theWorldTourismOrganizationishelpingtohighlightthelinksbetweentourism,povertyalleviationandbiodiversity.Thetourismcommunityisbecomingincreasinglyawareofits
responsibility.Andindeedthereismuchthesectorcancontributetoprotectingbiodiversity,includingbyintegratingsimplemeasuressuchasmanagingtourgroupstominimizedisturbancetowildlifeorbuyingsuppliesonlyfromsustainablesources.
世界旅游組織通過諸如―可持續(xù)旅游業(yè)——消除貧窮‖項目這樣的舉措以及同聯(lián)合國系統(tǒng)、各國旅游主管部門和私人部門的合作，正在幫助突出宣傳旅游、扶貧和生物多樣性之間的聯(lián)系。旅游界正日益意識到自己的責任。這個行業(yè)確實可以為保護生物多樣性做出很大貢獻，包括為此實行一些簡單的措施，例如通過對旅游團的管理來盡量減少對野生物的干擾，或僅從可持續(xù)來源購買用品。
