No book has ever influenced me so much as The old Man and the Sea It is a novelette by Ernest Hemingway about a fisherman named Santiago who finally proved himself a hero by his courage perseverance and confidence After eighty-four days of unsuccessful fishing the weather-beaten yet well-experienced old man decided to go into the Gulf Stream to catch a big fish Thus on the eighty-fifth day he went aloe in his skiff and hooked a big marlin After struggling with it for two days and two nights he at last killed the big fish Exhausted but happy he returned with the fish Exhausted but happy he returned with the fish lashed to the skiff but on his homeward journey both he and the fish were attacked by sharks and upon his arrival at the harbor in Havanaz there was nothing but the big skeleton of the fish to prove his heroism at sea At the close of the story I was deeply struck by the iron will of the protagonist. "A man is not made for defeat," said the old man. "A man can be destroyed but not defeated."Such words are a fillip to me when I look back on my failure in the entrance examination last year. I was then so upset that I even questioned the meaning of existence. Yet the Hemigway book brings home to me the truth of the saying "Failure is the mother of success," which I have never taken seriously before. I also know that the will to struggle is what counts, not the result thereof. With the understanding that no man is perfect, I regain the confidence in my ability to study harder. I believe I can make it this year.

2. i like my job for three reasons that it has led me to choose this occupation. first, teaching is learning. to make my lectures more constructive(積極,有建設(shè)性) and stimulating(激情), i have to read more books, eplore new knowledge and gain a better understanding of the world –the every thing that i enjoy in my life. second, teaching means freedom and independence. as a teacher, i’m free to use my own ideas and make my own decision, this privilege(特權(quán)) not everyone can have, even those with highly-paid positions. third, as a college teacher, i can acquire the more opportunity to continue learning. finally, i like teaching because it offers certain peace of mind. no more rushing to catch a morning bus, no more aniety to please a boss, no more worries about your paycheck which is steady(穩(wěn)定), even though it is not handsome(可觀).
3. there is something about my job which i don’t like very much. for eample, i must get to classroom on time, don’t late one minute when i have teaching task; i have not relations with the local government and society, there are not convenience of solving some difficulties in my life through privilege ; i must write some article about my profession i’m teaching because for my professional passing judgment;
4. although, being a college teacher, it has its advantages and its disadvantages. in my opinion, a college teacher is a better profession, i will decided on a college teacher as my life-long career.

這話還得從三年前說(shuō)起，聽(tīng)說(shuō)我們這地方的小學(xué)英語(yǔ)開(kāi)始納入考試了，學(xué)校也開(kāi)始著急了，怎么辦，這各年級(jí)的英語(yǔ)老師在哪里？領(lǐng)導(dǎo)們把所有的'老師掃描了一番，思來(lái)想去，隆重啟用了我們四個(gè)年輕的語(yǔ)文老師兼任！
唉，人在屋檐下不得不低頭啊，誰(shuí)叫我還得在人家鍋里抓飯吃呢，硬著頭皮上吧。于是就有了最開(kāi)始的“Good morning boys and girls！”說(shuō)實(shí)話，現(xiàn)在小學(xué)的英語(yǔ)教材比我讀中學(xué)時(shí)還難，好多單詞我都不認(rèn)識(shí)。這可害苦了我。每次上新課之前，都得花好長(zhǎng)時(shí)間查字典，聽(tīng)錄音，不然來(lái)到課堂上休想張嘴。
搞笑的是有一次學(xué)校派我們幾個(gè)外出聽(tīng)人家的優(yōu)質(zhì)課，我老早就跑去了，生怕找不到好位置。最后選了一個(gè)最佳——第一排正中！然而一節(jié)課下來(lái)，著實(shí)惱火，除了黑板上板書(shū)的單詞我知道外，老師的課堂口語(yǔ)我一句都聽(tīng)不懂！真是笑話呀，英語(yǔ)老師聽(tīng)不懂英語(yǔ)課！
當(dāng)然，這幾年不是一直都當(dāng)南郭先生的。我一邊學(xué)，一邊教，好歹還是學(xué)到了一點(diǎn)，至少后來(lái)出去聽(tīng)課還是能聽(tīng)懂了。我的要求不高，只希望我的學(xué)生每一節(jié)課能感受快樂(lè)。

Introduction: More and more women tend to have a career.
Body:Her absence affects the entire family, with her husband, her children, and even herself included.Conclusion: Her absence affects the entire family unfavorably.
As more and more women wish to gain their freedom both physically andfinancially, they step out into the world of work, competing with the opposite sex for
opportunities to actualize their own dreams. Having created benefit for the society andprofit for themselves, they have deserted their homes to some extent.
The working woman’s family is often unfavorably affected by her absence fromhome. Since her hours at home are lessened, she does not have as much time to attend
to household affairs as she might otherwise have. Her neglect of the household affairs causes discomfort to the entire family. The husband does not want to invite friends over. The children are embarrassed to ask playmates to come over with them. Even the working wife herself is irritable, since she would like to have a tidy home but does not have time. The meals, too, are neglected. The lack of time does not allow the working woman to plan meals, so that the meals at times are unbalanced.
Consequently, the entire family might very well be adversely affected by the lady of the house, undertaking the responsibilities of a working woman who must be absent from home a great deal of the tim
