Will Your Confidence Be Affected by ExternalFactors?

Confidence is extremely important in almost everyaspect of our life. It is said that confidence isoftenthe single ingredient that distinguishes asuccessful person from someone less successful.Yet many people only govern their behaviors basedon what other people think, stay in their owncomfort zones fearing failure and so avoiding taking risks, and oftentimes work hard to coverup mistakes and pray that they canfix the problem before anyone wiser. For those low-confidence people, they bear in their mind that somepeople are more competent, morebeautiful, much wealthier than them, and hence they are reduced to frustrations.

However, confidence should not be affected by those differences in terms ofappearance, wealth, and familyconnections.Firstly, people can not improve their financialsituations and change their appearancesovernight, they are likely to change their mindset tobecome confident. For those who believe that confidence is based onwealth, appearance, and other external factors, their confidence is measured by externalfactors. In line with this belief,we can assume that only the wealthy, the beautiful, thehandsome and the famous are confident.I think this is not the case. In our daily lives, there are people who earn meager salaries but still are confident of their futures who havecounted days due to terminal cancers but are still confident of fulfilling their childhooddreams. If those people base their confidence in current situations, they are doomed tolive gloomy and sad lives, for the perception of oneself has an enormous impact on whatthey will do in their daily life. Therefore, confidence is built from within instead ofexternalfactors.

Secondly, despite that people always are in lack of something, they are likely to learn and buildconfidence step by step. No matter how average they are, they have achieved something intheir lives to date and have strengths that they are not aware of. Tragically, human beingsare always in pursuit of what theywant, but neglect what they have possessed. This alsoexplains why they base their confidence on externalfactors Because those external factorsonly exist in their mind in the near future, they are not real andsolid. When people determineto set the journey to build confidence and carry things through by basing their confidence onwhat they have achieved and their strengths, no one can take it away, for they are realandsolid.Gradually, confidence is build on and success is readily available, which will in returnmake people more confident.

In sum, confidence is built from within instead of from external factors. People can learn tobe confident by appreciating what they have achieved and their unique strengths. In thissense, confidence should not be affected by external factors such as fame, wealth, power, and etc.

  Money First or Knowledge First?

Everyone knows the importance of money andknowledge.Everyone must have money to fulfill theirnecessities and knowledge to make them respectfuland help them gain money. But which one shouldbe put in the first place in the particular collegetime? Some college students set up their ownbusiness, some speculate inthe stock market, andsome start their own studios.

Undoubtedly, those students will not only earn enough money to fend for themselves, but alsobecome fledged in the real world. However, I think college students should always concentrateon acquiring knowledge instead of seeking fortune in the particular state of our lives.

Firstly, though knowledge can help you gain money, money can not buy you knowledge. Forthe majority of us, college time is a golden time for acquiring knowledge. Once we miss thegolden time, we will not be compensated in the future. In this particular episode of our lives,we receive allowance from our parents, are not disturbed by the chores of housework, andare assisted by experienced teachers and classmates. And I can not imagine which stage ofour lives is more favorable than this episode. The golden time for studies can be bestillustrated by a conversation with an elder friend. He established a training school years agoand did make a fortune. But he always takes me into confidence that he wants to tearhimself from thebusiness and further studies in graduate school. He also admonishes me that Ishould work harder and harder, otherwise I will regret one day.

Secondly, while college students can make some money in college time, they can not absorbthemselves in their business wholeheartedly, which means that they are less likely to succeed inthe corporate world than those who need not worry about studies.According to collegecurricula, students have to finish some compulsory courses and selective courses. They haveto pass all required courses before getting diplomas. For some students from particulardepartments, they have to make more efforts than students pursuing otherdegrees.Accordingly, if college students run business, they will not only bear pressuresimposed by studies, but also face the fierce competition in the market. Besides, collegestudents are unfledged in comparisonwith other seasoned businessmen. Is it wise to take therisk of running business in college?

In sum, college years is the golden period for studies in one’s life, and no one can afford tomiss it. While college students have to make efforts to earn credits, and turn out to beunfledged, they had betterconcentrate on studies.
