考研英語翻譯常犯的錯(cuò)誤
1.誤譯漏譯
When you listen to people speak a foreign language that you understand，have you noticed that the native speakers of that language use words and phrases in a manner different from what you are used to?
【原譯】當(dāng)你聽到人們說你理解的外語時(shí)，是否注意到該語言的母語在使用這些詞語時(shí)的習(xí)慣方式與你過去的習(xí)慣不同的嗎?
【評(píng)析】這段譯文至少有兩處和原文不符：一是the native speaker of that language所表達(dá)的意思是"以那種語言為母語的說話者"，而不是"該語言的母語"。 二是what you are used to所表達(dá)的意思是"你已經(jīng)習(xí)慣的方式"，而不是"你過去的習(xí)慣。"
【改譯】你聽別人講你能聽懂的外語時(shí)，你是否注意到以這種外語為母語的人，他們使用詞語的方式和你習(xí)慣使用詞語的方式是不同的。
2.硬譯死譯
所謂硬譯死譯，指的是譯者沒有真正理解原文的意思，對(duì)原文進(jìn)行字對(duì)字地翻譯，表面上看起來譯文和原文完全保持一致，但譯文并沒有準(zhǔn)確表達(dá)出原文所含內(nèi)容。翻譯時(shí)如果譯者沒有考慮到上下文，沒有考慮到語境，沒有考慮到漢語的習(xí)慣表達(dá)。就很可能出現(xiàn)硬譯死譯，譯文就不會(huì)忠實(shí)于原文，就不會(huì)通順流暢，就不會(huì)地道自然。
Studies show that most doctors sincerely believe that the seriously ill do not want to know the truth about their condition, and that informing them risks destroying their hope, so that they may recover more slowly, or deteriorate faster, perhaps even commit suicide.
【原譯】研究結(jié)果表明，大多數(shù)醫(yī)生深信身患重病的人不想知道他們的真實(shí)病情，如果將真情相告，他們的希望就可能破滅，他們恢復(fù)得更慢或惡化得更快，甚至?xí)詫ざ桃姟?/p>
【評(píng)析】把they may recover more slowly, or deteriorate faster譯成"他們恢復(fù)得更慢或惡化得更快"字面上好像是忠實(shí)于原文的，但卻是不地道的，不符合邏輯的。"他們"和"恢復(fù)"還是可以搭配在一起，但"他們"和"惡化"就不能搭配在一起了。可以說"病情惡化"，但不能說"病人惡化"，應(yīng)改成"病情惡化"。
【改譯】研究結(jié)果表明，大多數(shù)醫(yī)生深信身患重病的人不想知道他們的真實(shí)病情。如果將真情告知，病人可能就會(huì)失去希望，身體恢復(fù)就會(huì)更加緩慢，或者病情會(huì)進(jìn)一步迅速惡化，甚至?xí)詫ざ桃姟?/p>
3.搭配不當(dāng)
Jefferson died long ago, but many of his ideas are still of great interest to us.
【原譯】杰斐遜已謝世很久，但他的許多思想仍使我們感到很大的興趣。
【評(píng)析】"感到"和"興趣"不能搭配在一起，"感到"后一般可跟形容詞﹑動(dòng)詞或分句等作賓語，而"興趣"是個(gè)名詞。"感到"可改為"感"。
【改譯】雖然杰斐遜謝世很久，但我們對(duì)他的思想仍然很感興趣。
4.用詞不當(dāng)
In language there are some tacit rules of speaking that，unlike rules of grammar or spelling，are not usually studied in a formal manner.
【原譯】語言中，有些講法存在著默認(rèn)的規(guī)律，與語法和拼寫規(guī)律不同，在正規(guī)場(chǎng)合不一定學(xué)到。
【評(píng)析】rules還是譯為"規(guī)則"較好。"講法"表達(dá)的意思不夠準(zhǔn)確，可改譯為"說話"。把in a formal manner譯為"正式場(chǎng)合"，表達(dá)的意思也是不準(zhǔn)確的，可改為"正規(guī)的.學(xué)習(xí)方法"。
【改譯】與語法規(guī)則和拼寫規(guī)則不同的是，語言中說話的某些規(guī)則是默認(rèn)的，按照正規(guī)的學(xué)習(xí)方法通常是學(xué)不到的。
5.結(jié)構(gòu)不合理
There will come a day when people the world over will live a happy life under the sun of socialism.
【原譯】全世界人民在社會(huì)主義陽光下過幸福生活的一天是會(huì)到來的。
【評(píng)析】原譯文主語的定語較長(zhǎng)，使得整個(gè)句子頭重腳輕。按照漢語的表達(dá)習(xí)慣，這個(gè)句子可用兩個(gè)句子表達(dá)。
【改譯】全世界人將在社會(huì)主義的陽光下過幸福的生活，這一天是一定會(huì)來到的。
