1. give/lend an ear to someone傾聽某人的心聲(常用以表示同情)
例句：He tried to give a sympathetic ear to thepatient.

2. turn a deaf ear不加理睬、充耳不聞
例句：He turned a deaf ear to his mother's chatter.

和smart相結(jié)合的詞多和“聰明、靈巧”相關(guān)，如smart drink是“智慧飲料”(有益智功效的.混合飲料)，smart mob是“聰明暴民、快閃族(指通過手機(jī)或其他方式聯(lián)系后聚集、集體行動(dòng)等的一群人)”。但是有的和smart沾邊的詞就沒那么幸運(yùn)了，像smart-ass是“自作聰明的人”，而smart mouth則是“說話放肆的人”。
另外，smart還可以解釋為“時(shí)髦的”，例如smart casual就是“休閑且時(shí)髦的服飾”。
