　　麥當(dāng)勞考慮使用人性化屠宰方法宰雞

　　世界快餐大王——美國(guó)麥當(dāng)勞公司正在考慮接受一家動(dòng)物協(xié)會(huì)的建議，使用更加人性的方法宰雞。

　　據(jù)美國(guó)CNN網(wǎng)站12月28日?qǐng)?bào)道，目前，美國(guó)農(nóng)業(yè)部認(rèn)定的“最不使其緊張、最人性化的宰殺動(dòng)物方法”是一種叫做控制氣氛屠宰(controlled-atmosphere killing )的方法。使用這種方法后，動(dòng)物會(huì)很快處于無痛的.睡眠狀態(tài)，就不會(huì)感覺到死亡的痛苦。美國(guó)人道對(duì)待動(dòng)物協(xié)會(huì)(PETA)希望麥當(dāng)勞率先使用人性屠宰法，在行業(yè)內(nèi)起到積極的引導(dǎo)作用。

　　報(bào)道說，由于雞并不列入相關(guān)動(dòng)物保護(hù)法范圍之內(nèi)，目前還是采用傳統(tǒng)的宰殺法。PETA最近從麥當(dāng)勞獲悉，為麥當(dāng)勞提供雞肉的歐洲一些廠家已經(jīng)開始使用控制氣氛屠宰方法屠宰動(dòng)物，美國(guó)也將會(huì)在明年夏天考慮使用這種方法。

　　McDonald"s, the world"s number one fast-food restaurant and second-largest buyer of chicken, is studying whether to switch its chicken suppliers over to the least-cruel slaughter method, the animal rights group PETA said Tuesday.

　　Controlled-atmosphere killing, or CAK, is a USDA-approved method of slaughter that is described by animal welfare experts as "the most stress-free, humane method of killing poultry ever developed." The CAK method puts the birds to sleep quickly and painlessly.

　　According to the animal-rights group, McDonald"s (Research) said some of its EU suppliers are already using CAK technology and a feasibility study for the U.S. will be ready this summer. A PETA spokesperson said McDonald"s is the first corporation to seriously consider CAK technology and they are hopeful that McDonald"s will spur an industry-wide shift.
